Can you run this system with out battery just to use the 5 volt thats on the controler ...

Best use i can see for this is charging usb devices. Good news is phones,lights,fans,usb battery banks,all could operate or charge from this set up.

You should always hook your negative battery cable first. That way, you don't risk your ground shorting by hitting something.

I bought one of these too and found it was basically worthless.

Can you try this again with the powerbank not in direct sunlight

If anyone wants to go through a window with the solar cabals don't use a towel, pool noodle etc.. They sell flat cabals for that. You can fully close your window and even lock them.. I thought it was a neat test!

Kinda of a neat project to see how things work which is really important. Not practical you need to spend more to get something useful.

remember the discharge rate plays a factor. they usually use a low discharge rate to get to those numbers.

I have a question.. u just showed one panel lose 1%… so if I have a system of 25 panels and they all lose 1 % efficiency isn’t that a 25% lost over the whole system 🤔🤔.. stop giving ppl wrong info for likes and damage those ppl business…

I build this and it is trash.

Given all the facts does a 100 watt solar panel produce 100 watts of power at what percentage? Ballpark figure? In other words if I connect two 100 watt solar panels in west Georgia, what wattage would they produce per hour given the drag of the controller, wiring etc. Would it exceed 120 watts per hour is the question I'm pondering for like a power station for example.

for beginners they should have red for positive and black for negative cables instead of both black. Makes it easier to not make a mistake with different colors

That is to say, for every kilowatt of sun energy blasted on the panel, you will get about .23 kilowatts of electricity transfer. Not many people tilt and adjust their panels all day so the out transfer to electricity is much less, we have other stuff to do.
